2/7/15 Nogales

Woke up. Ate breakfast. Took a nap. Bought wine and cheese. Picnic by the pool. Hot tub. Slept in the sun. That was our day in Nogales. Not a bad one, any way you look at it.

We met up with our group of 7, 5 tourists and two company men - one to lead and one to follow. Got some pesos, had a brief orientation ( they gave us pencils to hand out to the kids in the villages) and learned how to navigate Mexico. Alberto, our leader, began by explaining that going from the US to Mexico is unlike crossing any other border in the world. Usually there is a blend of culture and language. Here it is like landing on another planet.

An Italian dinner with our new friends served to bind us as road companions. Tomorrow we ride out at eight to meet the Federales. Border crossing complete, we dive into the home of our Southern neighbors to be immersed in their colorful and diverse culture. Adios USA.

Wow! They know how to do produce here!
